It’s back on the ice for Roman Justin Losowski, 12, seen here in his first game with the Rome Grizzlies Pee Wee Team in over a year, and what a game he had. With help from his teammates, Justin tore up the nets in Morrisville this past week scoring three goals, better known as a hat trick.
Scoring hat tricks after a year-long battle with MRSA
ROME - A little over a year ago, 12-year-old Roman Justin Losowski began fighting a mysterious infection that started with an open wound on his ankle.
He was diagnosed with what is known as MRSA, a very dangerous and potentially fatal staff infection. The past year has been a roller coaster ride for Justin, his family and the many friends who stood by the Losowski's during this crisis.
Things are looking good as of right now and as per Lori's request, we will indeed keep praying that things continue to go well for young Justin. Skate hard kid!
Lori said she was a bit nervous (really? Who would have thought?) about turning him loose on the ice with the Rome Grizzlies Pee Wee House Team recently, but he did just fine.
She also said that he tires quicker than he used to, but they are taking each day as it comes. Heaven help the opposition when he finally gets his strength back, cause if he's scoring goals when he's tired, they're going to be in for a real tough time when he's back in tip-top shape.
