'Caring people go the extra mile'
11/25/2008
To the Editor:

Once again, I write to compliment Elizabeth Szlek on her Mind Matters column, specifically the one titled "Caring for our elders" that ran in the Oct. 30 Rome Observer.

I know personally many older people and children that have been brought up with the idea that antipsychotic drugs will solve a traumatic experience in life, especially Zyprexa, Haldol and Risperdal.

I've seen what these drugs have done to members of my family and especially to children on the drug Risperdal.
Horrible, horrible horrible.

But adults will believe any lie to get out of the responsibility of truly caring for members of the family. That's the operative word. Care. Caring people go the extra mile.
